What you'll do... Performs inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs following company guidelines under the direct supervision of a qualified shop technician on some Walmart equipment (for example, trailers) by creating and processing work orders; assessing maintenance and repair needs; identifying needed parts and possible solutions; selecting the best possible solution; conducting maintenance and repairs (for example, dismounting/installing tires on wheels, repairing flats, balancing tires, adjusting landing gear, replacing lights, trailer door repairs) following company and Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines and requirements; seeking approval for maintenance and repairs performed by qualified shop technicians; communicating with individuals or groups (for example, customers, suppliers, associates) verbally and in writing; and completing work orders, records, logs and other written or computer-based documents according to established procedures. Receive fuel drops and conducts fuel sampling by monitoring the drop to ensure safety compliance; following procedures for fuel additives; monitoring tank levels before and after the drop; collecting and preparing fuel samples for analysis and shipping; and completing appropriate paperwork. The hourly wage range for this position is $25.20-$28.70* * The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location.
