This position will focus on auto detailing for the tribal fleet, garage cleaning, pick-up and drop off vehicles for maintained and/or repairs.This list is intended only to illustrate the various types of work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or is a logical assignment to the position. Maintain a clean and safe work environment for the mechanics.Detail MIT vehicles (inside and outside).Assist Fleet mechanics and Transportations staff as required.Pick-up and delivery of vehicles: Departments, Vendors, Event Coordinators, and Emergency Situations.Take delivery of shop supplies, new vehicles, and other items.Use various types of cleaning solutions and equipment.Ensure that vehicles are detailed according to instructions.Shampoo carpets and upholstery.Vacuum seats and floors.Clean out cup holders and ashtrays.Perform leather and vinyl conditioning.Clean out dirt, rubbish, and debris from the interior of vehicles.Clean all tar, dirt, and grease from the exterior of vehicles.Ensure that the exterior of vehicles are reconditioned.Clean all glass on vehicles, inside and out, with the appropriate cleaning solution and rag.Clean vehicle mirrors with correct cleaning solution.Ensure that engine is steam cleaned. Remove grease from engine area and under the hood.Buff and wax vehicles after washing.Use special equipment and air compressors to dry the inside and outside of vehicle surfaces.Use specially provided products to protect surfaces from stains and spots.Use pumps and hose for washing and rinsing vehicles.Wash and thoroughly dry floor mats.Clean and polish wheel rims.Clean tail lights, headlights and brake lights thoroughly.Fix minor chips and scratches with touch-up vehicle paint.Keep wash area and all shop areas clean and organized.Manage inventory of cleaning supplies.Collect all garbage and waste using responsible disposal practices.Support health-conscious activities (COVID safety team member).Willingness to be flexible and work where needed when detailing is slow.Because of the Tribe’s commitment to community service and the well being of its members, each employee may be expected to perform a wide range of office and field duties from time to time. Such duties may or may not be related to their regular responsibilities.Required: High School diploma or equivalent. Must be 18 years or older.Current and valid Washington state driver’s license, with clean driving record.Preferred: Forklift experience a plus but not required.Skilled In:Exceptional customer service.Excellent communication.Multi-tasking and time management.Cleaning vehicles.Knowledge of:Safety precautions.Ability to:Pay attention to detail.Listen actively and exercise sound judgement.Manage material resources effectively and keep track of inventory of supplies.Work continually for long hours.Operate cleaning equipment in a safe manner.Ability to stand and work on feet on a daily basis.The working conditions described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of this class.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, bend, talk or hear. The employee is required to walk; use hands to operate, finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet. A valid Washington State driver's license is required at time of appointment or at a time set by the Tribe.
