The families receive support and services to complement the child’s education as the kindergarten transition nears.What You'll DoThe Center Floater is responsible for supporting the Center Director with daily program needs in the implementation and coordination of all Head Start and Early Head Start functions both inside and outside of the classroom. We are Family. *This position is year-round and scheduled accordingly.We Are Warriors | We Set the Standards for Child EducationWork Standards Identify report and provide supportive services in child abuse/neglect cases, notifying immediate supervisor and appropriate state agencyAssist in the implementation of weekly lesson plansEnsure all children are always properly supervised indoors and outdoors, taking appropriate safety precautions for the well-being of all children as directedAssist with all child assessments and screeningsAttend workshops, conferences, in-service trainings, and all required trainings and webinarsParticipate in professional development activitiesMaintain training hours and documentation as requiredAssist in maintaining staff and child ratio for safety, guidance, discipline, and active supervisionHandle all Head Start/Early Head Start children(s), families and staff’s information with utmost confidentialityReport suspected child abuse/neglect to immediate supervisor and fulfill role as a mandated reporter as stated in Child Abuse and Neglect PolicyAbide by all Head Start, Early Head Start and Upbring policies and proceduresStaff will be responsible for daily cleaning after all meals and snacks, end of day activities while in the classroom as well as cleaning restrooms, and entire facilityAssist with other job duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other leadership staffStaff must not use/impose corporal punishment or other forms of child maltreatment as a method to discipline childrenComply with the company code of conduct and other applicable regulations and requirements, including Licensing Head Start Program Performance Standards (HSPPS), Upbring policies, and procedures, Child Care Minimum Standards, DFPS, OHS regulations and standards and other federal, state, and local regulatory requirements and lawsAlways ensure the health and safety of each child in care, and support the overall well-being of childrenAssist in collection and accurate documentation of monthly non-federal in-kind formWe Are Servants | We Help OthersTeamworkSeek guidance and support from supervisor for any workplace concerns: inclusive but not limited to classroom management, behavior management, child health and safety, child development, and any other concerns that may require interventionAssist the teacher in a Head Start/Early Head Start preschool setting, which provides a comprehensive program to meet educational, emotional, social, health, nutritional, and psychological needs of childrenAssist the teacher in maintaining a safe, clean, learning environment and ensuring the well-being and safety of all the children in careAssist Center Director with monthly center safety drills and checklistsAbility to substitute as assigned by immediate supervisorWork closely with other classroom teachers to ensure program operations are supporting and meeting program goals, objectives, and learning outcomesWork as part of the team, exhibit professionalism (commitment, confidence, responsibility, dependability, honesty, ethics, appearance) and a positive attitude with team-mates and supervisorModel and demonstrate a positive attitude and positive working relationships, while maintaining strong ethical boundariesWe Are Family | We Are Passionate & CompassionateBuilding RelationshipsAdvocate for young children and their familiesMaintain a cooperative attitude of working together with the teacher, teacher assistant, volunteers, parents, and program specialists in planning and implementing activitiesDevelop and maintain strong working relationships with classroom teachers, administrative staff, children, and parents to ensure the children are receiving a quality learning experienceActively participate in exhibiting cultural awareness and sensitivity when interacting with children, parent(s)/guardian(s), staff, and the communityMinimum QualificationsHigh School diploma or GED equivalentChild Development Associate Credential (CDA) OR ability to enroll in a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential program within 30 days of start date, to be completed within six months OR be enrolled in a program that will lead to an associate or bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or related field with a minimum of 15 credit hours in early childhood development/education to be completed within 12 monthsPreferred QualificationsChild Development Associate Credential (CDA)Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferredCurrent CPR and First Aid certificationPerks at UpbringCompetitive PTO & paid holidaysHealth, dental, vision insurance & more!403(b) PlanEmployee Assistance Program24/7 access to telemedicine and counseling servicesDiscounted Gym MembershipsDiversity.
