Amerit Fleet Solutions, one of the leading fleet maintenance companies in the US, is looking to hire a skilled Fleet Manager in FARGO, ND.The Fleet Manager is responsible for leading a team of Technicians and Mechanics in an aggressive quality preventative maintenance repair program, including the maintenance of large, medium, and light duty vehicles, and other equipment to ensure a safe and efficient fleet.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesLead, educate and develop employeesMonitor employee’s performance and be accessible to all areas of the shopOversee multiple shop operationsPlan daily manpower to meet workloadProvide support to the operations team regarding all equipment related issuesMonitor and analyze all opportunities to cut costs and improve efficienciesPerform administrative functions; including payroll approval, scanner downloads, repair order maintenance and compliance documentationAddress all corrective action regarding direct reportsProvide clean, safe working conditions of the facility and equipmentCommunicate with client to ensure operation's and company's needs are metIdentify and monitor equipment sent to outside sources for repairsConduct pre-shift meetingsComply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/proceduresInterview and hire for shop positionsKey Competencies and Minimum EducationMust possess at least 2 years' industry experience in fleet maintenance or operations capacity and 5-8 years of direct management experience.Prior technician/mechanic experienceHigh school diploma or equivalentContract dependent: May require familiarity with heavy truck / trailer repair and maintenanceContract dependent: May require experience with refrigerated cargo unitsMust be able to travel as needed; overseeing multiple shop locations as assignedThorough knowledge of DOT rules and regulations, company policies and proceduresProven leadership and interpersonal skillsStrong written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)Strong computer skills- knowledge of Word, Excel, Fleet Management systems and exposure to large ERP/timekeeping systemWorking ConditionsExposure to heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job.Exposure to considerable amounts of dust, diesel fumes and noise.Exposure to chemicals, oils, greases or other irritants.Ability to move and position heavy objectsAbility to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel and crawl to repair vehiclesAbility to work outside in various weather conditions.
