The Idaho Transportation Department is recruiting for a Transportation Technician to work up to 5 months in Hailey, Idaho. This temporary position will provide additional support to keep our highways safe and clear this winter season. Idaho Transportation Department is seeking an individual who is hardworking and interested in a seasonal snow removal equipment operator position. This individual needs to be self-motivated and able to work well independently as well as with a team to provide a high-quality service. A Class B (or greater) CDL is required and training will be provided to operate the equipment. Hourly rates are based on snowplow experience: 0 to 2 winter seasons = $18.55 2.1 - 3.9 winter seasons = $19.98 4+ winter seasons = $21.64 6 + winter seasons = $23.33 General Information: This work involves working in all types of weather conditions, under hazardous conditions, on congested highways, around operating equipment and in a noisy environment Working irregular shifts, overtime, weekends, or holidays is frequently required This work involves physically demanding tasks such as clearing brush and lifting and carrying heavy objects Applying for this job indicates that you are willing and physically able to meet the requirements as stated above Minimum Qualifications Valid driver's license Experience operating vehicles with manual transmissions Class A or B CDL is required Notice: Applicants who apply to this posting may be eligible to convert to a benefitted full or part-time position at this location upon successful completion of 1,040 credited state service hours if a position is available.
