Description We are inviting applications for a Medical Billing Specialist to join our team based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This role presents an opportunity to transition into a contract-to-hire position, within the healthcare sector. As a Medical Billing Specialist, you will be tasked with various responsibilities including maintaining patient accounts, processing insurance claims, and working with various medical billing software systems. Responsibilities: Manage and process medical billing information using software tools such as Allscripts, Cerner Technologies, Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE), and EHR SYSTEM. Oversee and maintain accurate customer credit records. Efficiently process customer credit applications. Resolve customer inquiries related to medical billing and insurance claims. Work closely with the Accounts Receivable (AR) department to ensure accurate and timely payments. Handle appeals and claim administration tasks as required. Perform various billing functions, ensuring compliance with established standards and regulations. Administer patient benefits and explain them to patients or their representatives. Use Epaces for electronic processing, submission, and management of Medicaid claims. Regularly monitor customer accounts, identifying issues and taking appropriate action. Requirements Proficiency in using Allscripts and Cerner Technologies for medical billing purposes Familiarity with Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) and EHR SYSTEM Experience with Epaces in handling medical billing functions Knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR) management Ability to handle appeals related to medical billing and payment disputes Understanding of Benefit Functions in the medical billing process Experience in Billing Functions, including preparing, issuing, and sending out bills Proficiency in Claim Administration, including processing and managing insurance claims Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team High attention to detail and accuracy Knowledge of medical terminologies and coding Relevant certification or degree in medical billing or related field is preferred.
