Professional (+) (Fixed Term) Position Details: Summary of Duties: Under general supervision, the SNAP-Ed Program Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and delivering Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) nutrition education and policy, systems and environmental (PSE) change interventions with a focus on community-led change. The Extension Coordinator will conduct needs assessments, adhere to SNAP-Ed guidelines and collaborate with agencies and groups within the community to deliver nutrition education programming and develop PSE interventions in a culturally responsive manner. The Extensive Coordinator organizes, conducts, coordinates, monitors, evaluates and reports on program activities related to PSE strategies, health promotion, and direct education at food banks, schools and farmers market sites. The Extension Coordinator reports directly to the SNAP-Ed Program Manager, and works closely with other Extension staff, community partners, and program participants to ensure that activities meet community needs, honor participants' lived experiences, and are appropriate within FNS guidance for SNAP-Ed programs. The position contributes to local, University, state and national recognition of WSU Extension and the SNAP-Ed Nutrition Education Program as an essential nutrition education resource and contributes to the recognition of WSU as a premier Land-Grant University. This is a temporary position expected to end on September 30, 2025. Renewal is dependent on satisfactory performance and annual background check, the need for Extension to complete the project and/or if additional funding is secured to extend employment. Required Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant extension program discipline and two (2) years of related program experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis. Related program experience could include public health, nutrition, education, family and consumer sciences, community development. Washington State Food Handler's Permit within 30 days of hire. Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver's license and meet requirements in accordance with and departmental driving standards. While using a private or WSU-owned vehicle for official business, must have current automobile liability insurance (meeting the requirements described in and Ability to work a flexible, yet structured schedule with occasional night and weekend shifts to meet the needs of program partners and grant requirements.
