ENTRY LEVEL POSITIONSupervise the scheduling and dispatch of company & DCS (Dedicated Carrier Services) drivers to ensure timelydeliveries to MTH (Merchants Transport of Hickory) customers while complying with company and DOTregulations. Ensure all signed BOL’s for p/u and deliveries are turned in to MTH dispatch upon drivers’ arrival toMDI and all loads that come back to MDI yard are tracked and monitored to leave on time for delivery.Schedule:Sun, Mon, Tue5:30pm - 6:00amORWed, Thu, Fri5:30pm-6amAccountabilities:• Work with MTH Dispatch & DCS Dispatch to Plan and assign drivers to routes. Also, plan additional driverscheduling in advance of all holidays.• Will dispatch all paperwork and instructions to each individual driver on MTH loads• Monitor daily workload and take action to ensure timely delivery and/ or pick up of customer product.• Document drivers’ tardy, late departures, detentions at p/u and delivery.• Work with and influence shippers and receivers to load and unload driver within 2 hours of appointment time.• Monitor Manage driver hours of service through use of People Net for MDI drivers.• Work with DCS site managers to Track and Balance hours for DCS drivers to insure DCS drivers hit /exceed theminimum hours weekly set -in contract.• Point of contact for all MTH loads handling all driver issues as they arise• Manage the scheduling of all Ingles loads to p/u milk at Milkco. Communicating with Milkco what loads MDI willcover• Check in all drivers that handles MTH loads, making sure BOLs are turned in, paperwork filled out correctly,unloads receipts turned in and tracking and monitoring all loads that come back to MDI yard and that loadsleave MDI yard to deliver customers on timely basis.• Assisting MTH dispatchers on Sunday to assign MTH backhauls to MDI outbound trips• Issue AFS checks as needed, recording, and collecting receipt from driver upon return to MDI• Work closely with DCS managers and look for innovative ways to enhance the performance of the department.• Monitor yard to insure inbound and outbound trailers are located properly and recorded under the correctstatus to maintain trailer control accuracy• Responsible for other duties as assigned. Desirable Qualifications:• Associate degree in business, transportation, logistics, or related work experience.• Working knowledge of DOT regulations.• Professional experience using Microsoft Excel and Word.• Strong interpersonal, problem solving, and analytical skills.Dimensions:• Assist planning and dispatch 275 routes weekly.• Supervise inbound and outbound driver dispatch (50+ drivers)• Work with outside driver agencies as needed.
