Description We are seeking a Collections Specialist to join our team in Chattanooga, Tennessee. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity. The Collections Specialist will be responsible for managing a high volume of client accounts, conducting extensive research, and maintaining accurate billing records. Ability to work effectively with a team is key in this role Responsibilities: Manage business-to-business collections for a large number of clients, on a national level. Handle accounts of varying sizes and ensure timely collection of dues. Collaborate with sales and customer support teams for the collections process, and escalate to leadership when necessary. Conduct extensive research on accounts, particularly in cases of acquisitions and integrations. Communicate with businesses via phone and email to collect on past due accounts. Address billing disputes and update descriptions on billing as per client requests. Issue credit memos and send IRS W-9 forms to clients upon request. Utilize software tools like NetSuite, Salesforce, and Microsoft Excel for data entry and record maintenance. Work with a high level of attention to detail and organization in a fast-paced environment. Apply problem-solving skills and critical thinking to handle complex billing issues. Requirements Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Collections Specialist or in a similar role. Proficiency in business-to-business (B2B) transactions and commercial collections. Demonstrable experience with heavily-outbound activities, email correspondence, and documentation related to collections. Familiarity with billing collection, correct billing procedures, and credit memo preparation. Ability to research and resolve discrepancies efficiently. Experience in handling IRS W-9 forms. Knowledge and experience in using software such as NetSuite, Salesforce, Microsoft Excel, and PDF. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively. Strong communication and negotiation skills. High level of professionalism and ethical behavior. Ability to work in a fast-paced and goal-oriented environment. Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to collections. Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel for data management and reporting. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent customer service skills and a customer-centric approach. Strong analytical skills and ability to work with large volumes of data. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures and job assignments.
