OBJECTIVE: The Outreach Specialist executes a sales and marketing strategy for the Community Impact division and the Contracts division business to business services. This individual will support department heads to meet sales/outreach goals through promotion of Goodwill of Colorado programs and services for/in the community. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma is required, college degree preferred. Experience in social services, marketing, communication or business management helpful. A valid Colorado driver's license without a history of violations is required with the ability to travel. Must have reliable transportation and must also be able to operate company vehicle. The incumbent must be assertive in executing the sales and marketing strategy. The incumbent must have the ability to interact with various levels of management, business and community leaders. The incumbent must also have the ability to communicate effectively with the organization's public relations department balancing marketing needs while promoting the organization's presence and brand in the community. The Specialist must also conduct themselves in a professional manner, maintain a professional appearance that enhances the firm's reputation, and be a positive role model. The incumbent must be creative and have strong organizational and personal skills. The incumbent must have excellent understanding of the Colorado market for a wide variety of services. In addition to the competencies listed below, the incumbent must have the ability to demonstrate a high level of energy, innovation and be an inspiration to others. Per auto vehicle insurance carrier requirements: For applicants/employees to qualify for inclusion on the Goodwill driver insurance schedule, for purpose of driving Goodwill fleet vehicles, they must be at least: 19 years of age (not engaged in passenger transportation), 25 - 70 years of age for all passenger transportation services, 21 years of age for CDL. Applicants/employee will be required to undergo a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check and background check; applicants/employees must disclose all moving traffic violations or vehicle crashes (within the last three (3) years)(Note: not all violations are a disqualification for employment and each case will be reviewed by the insurance carrier); must have valid Colorado State driver license; must also be able to operate company vehicle, and adhere to all Federal, State, and local laws governing vehicle operation. Applicant/employees using their personal vehicle for company business, must have valid vehicle insurance, valid driver license, and vehicle must be in roadworthy condition. KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS: Sales/Marketing The Outreach Specialist should be knowledgeable and confident in order to promote marketing and sales in all designated programs/services. The incumbent should be able to develop prospect lists, set appointments, work qualified prospects through the sales pipeline, develop referrals and keep a database of sale contacts and notes. The incumbent will be measured by her/his ability to convert conversations into appointments, appointments into proposals, and proposals into closings. The specialist should be comfortable with post-sale marketing. The Outreach Specialist will work closely with the Business Development Manager and meet as needed with a variety of organizational leaders to determine business development priorities. The incumbent will be responsible for developing and maintaining customers. In addition to outside sales the incumbent will be responsible for maintaining relationships with current referral sources. Overall Support and Quality Focus The Outreach Specialist will create an environment that supports innovation, continuous improvement and appropriate risk taking. The incumbent will lead efforts to improve or streamline processes and adopt best practices in internal and external communication, sales and marketing of programs/services. The incumbent will also attend appropriate professional meetings, workshops and share applicable information in staff training sessions. Relationship Management The Outreach Specialist is responsible for establishing and maintaining a positive and professional relationship with all customers, vendors, outside agencies, communities, and all Goodwill staff. The Outreach Specialist will attend numerous community, business, and association information and networking events. The incumbent must also partner with internal customers by communicating business development strategies, implementation, changes in direction, and all other information to achieve goals. Strategic Planning and Support As an employee of this organization, the Outreach Specialist will seek opportunities to advocate the vision, mission, and philosophies of Goodwill. The incumbent will leverage opportunities to explain and promote the quality standards with vendors, employees, community partners. The incumbent will maintain awareness of industry changes, identify key issues and help develop timely course(s) of action relevant to long-range business goals.
