We believe that success starts with a sound team and that an inclusive and diverse workplace moves us all forward.WHAT YOU’LL DOThe Installation Manager is responsible for managing, leading and coordinating the fabrication and installation department, to ensure deliverables are on time, budget and meet AVI-SPL’s quality standards and best practices. The Installation Manager is also responsible for coordinating with Project Management and other department heads to ensure all internal engineering, CAD and programming deliverables are prepared for field engineering, shop, and installation activities. This role will also manage and coordinate external activities including all outsourced or sub-contract work in support of project installation activities. As an Installation Manager, you will mentor all technical staff.Day-To-Day Responsibilities:Build, manage and lead fabrication and installation workforce through recruiting, training, resource scheduling and best practices techniquesCoordinate with Project Manager and other department heads to ensure necessary project documentation and deliverables are prepared for fabrication and installation activities and work with direct lead technicians assigned to projectOversee installation budget for department and make recommendations to upper management as neededDrive adoption and compliance of AVI-SPL Installation & Fabrication standards and best practicesOversee quality control of shop fabrication and onsite installation activitiesMonitor and ensure labor expenditures to not exceed budgetCoordinate fleet vehicle maintenance, equipment delivery and associated responsibilities, field install and trouble-shooting support as neededAct as customer liaison in absence of Project ManagerCoordinate control system programming and field testing of integrated systems and training client on useRead and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprintsUse hand and power tools to solder and crimp connectors along with various other AV systems related tasksPerform installation tasks for audio visual projects including but not limited to pulling cable, installing connectors, mounting displays and metal fabrication when neededAssist with turn-over of project to service department at completion of each project and with project sign off when neededTravel to various job sites when neededWHAT WE’RE LOOKING FORMust-Haves:Experience with planning, implementing and managing the activities of an installation workforce through recruiting, training, resource scheduling and best practices techniquesExperience developing and implementing business processes and streamlining operationsAbility to manage and direct projects to completionAbility to lead with confidence and create alignment among managementAbility to attract and develop staffAbility to direct a team towards a cohesive set of strategic objectives and maintain efficient timelines in the completion of tasksProven ability to significantly contribute toward or lead operation initiatives with a results-oriented approachKnowledge of basic signal flow for audio, video and controlExceptional strategic thinking and structured problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and writtenExcellent capability to switch tasks while adapting to changing prioritiesAbility to negotiate conflict and maintain constructive working relationships with people at all levels of the organizationEnthusiastic self-starter capable of working independently and ensuring to meet deadlinesAbility to use hand and power tools in a safe and efficient mannerAbility to manage small to medium projectsValid Driver’s License and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets AVI-SPL driving standardsMinimum High School Diploma or equivalentNice-To-Haves:Bachelor’s Degree in Business, or related field (MBA or master’s degree is preferred)Minimum 4 - 6 years’ installation management experience managing a diverse operation with multiple business units preferably in the Audio Visual or Construction industryDemonstrated knowledge and experience with construction or project management theory and practices preferredFamiliarity with AV or other electro - mechanical systems a plusMinor programming capability (AMX/Creston) - changes and troubleshootingWHY YOU’LL LIKE WORKING HEREMedical benefits, including vision and dentalPaid holidays, sick days, and personal daysEnjoyable and dynamic company cultureTraining and professional development opportunitiesMORE ABOUT USAVI-SPL is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
