The Trailer Mechanic/Technician position requires high level of proficiency and working knowledge related to repairs and diagnostics of trailers, dollies, and switchers.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesPerform repairs and preventative maintenance to heavy-duty Class 7 - 8 trailers, dollies, and switchers.Perform services to anti-lock brakes, wheel end components, electrical, brakes body, minor body work, and roll-up doors.Prepare vehicle records and report both manually and on a computerPerform safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation requiredComply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/proceduresInspect and perform work on the under parts of vehiclesAccess any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenanceMove parts to and from the job site and remove or install these parts on vehiclesInteract with clients through both email and phone as necessaryPerform other duties as requiredKey Competencies & EducationAt least 1-3 years of experience performing vehicle maintenance or must possess auto or diesel technology diploma from an accredited technical schoolMust have valid Driver’s License- Class CProficient computer skills: knowledge of Excel, Word, Fleet Management Systems, and emailStrong written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)Must be able to operate a manual transmission vehicle to determine if operating properlyMust provide own hand tools & toolboxWorking ConditionsExposure to heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the jobExposure to considerable amounts of dust, diesel fumes and noiseExposure to chemicals, oils, greases, or other irritantsAbility to move and position heavy objectsAbility to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel and crawl to repair vehiclesAbility to work outside in various weather conditionsJob Type: Full-timePay: $21.00 - $35.00 per hourBenefits:401KDental insuranceEmployee assistance programEmployee discountFlexible spending accountHealth insurancePaid time offProfessional development assistanceReferral programVision insuranceExperience level:1 yearSchedule:8 hour shiftAvailable to work 2nd or 3rd Shift-Minimum of 40 hours a WeekExperience:Structural Trailer Repair-Including Cross-Members, Landing Gear, Roll Up Doors, and Side Panels: 1 year (Required)Air Brake Repair: 1 year (Required)License/Certification:Driver's License (Required)Are you ready to advance your career as a Trailer Technician with Amerit Fleet Solutions?
