We provide our customers with a full range of plumbing, HVAC and fire protection designbuild and maintenance services.Job Title: HVAC Mechanical EstimatorDepartment: HVAC ConstructionLocation: 348 New County Road, Secaucus, NJ 07094Reports to: Executive Vice President Chief EstimatorFLSA Status: ExemptPrepared By: Human ResourcesDate: July 21, 2023SUMMARY The Estimator is responsible for estimating and providing management with detailed pricing for development of bid quotations and bid packages. He or she should have relevant experience in preparing cost estimates for construction projects, or services to aid management in bidding on or determining price of product or service. He or she may specialize according to particular service performed or type of product manufactured.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESInclude the following. Other duties will likely be assigned.Collect historical cost data to estimate costs for current or future products.Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.Prepare estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work.Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.Review contract and bid documents; review and understand scope for project turnover.Attend walk-throughs, pre-bid and scope clarification meetings.Quantitative take-off and computer entryPrepare scope letters and proposals.Maintain relationships with customers, General Contractors, vendors, and subcontractors.Ability to perform designbuild, conceptual and budget estimates.Coordinate efforts with the Engineering DepartmentEnsure documents are centrally saved in the company's drive within the confidential estimating folder(s)Assist project managers with takeoffs and pricing changes in ply with all Company operating policies, procedures, and safety programs as established.Perform additional assignments as required by the needs of the company or as directed by executives.QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
