Organization: SHSO-Sutter Health System Office-Valley Position Overview: Responsible for advancing the adoption of evidence based medicine and patient safety initiatives at the medical center. Leads a culture of quality and patient safety, brings a national perspective on quality programs and initiatives, gathers best practices and helps the medical center to compete effectively for local and national recognition. Accountable for oversight and maintenance of Joint Commission survey readiness and medical center compliance with Joint Commission standards. Works cooperatively with the medical staff to drive performance improvement and implementation of evidence based guidelines for patient care. Interfaces with medical staff leadership for the purpose of providing quality data for peer review. Participates in the development and maintenance of systems needed to provide quality information for the peer review/Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE) process for Joint Commission. Job Description : EDUCATION: Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma. Bachelor's: Business Administration/Management, Healthcare Administration, Nursing, or a related clinical field TYPICAL EXPERIENCE: 18 years recent relevant experience SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Must understand both inpatient and outpatient care including access, delivery and outcomes. Working knowledge and thorough understanding of applicable laws and regulations, licensing and accreditation requirements, and standards of practice with the ability to interpret and implement applicable requirements to ensure operational compliance. Working knowledge of medical staff bylaws, governance and structure. Expertise in outcomes management, quality management, quality improvement, risk management. Understanding of health services and basic science research. Profound commitment to quality and health system improvement. Unquestioned clinical and professional credential. Business acumen, demonstrating ability to establish goals and standards to meet long and short- term objectives and make sound business decisions. Demonstrates credible leadership presence with the ability to respond to questions with logic, clarity, calmness and authority; and the ability to engage others. Demonstrates collaboration skills to facilitate open sharing of information and cooperation with various stakeholders, and to build consensus. An open and visible leadership style that encourages inclusive decision making with a sense of teamwork. The ability to elicit and fairly represent medical staff viewpoints. A polished, professional demeanor which conveys the quality and stature of the institution, and represents Sutter effectively to its external constituencies. Interpersonal and presentation skills to deliver presentations to a variety of audiences. Pay Range is $110.48 to $176.76 / hour The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate's experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
