A committed faculty and administration strive to create a school that will stand as a model for what K-8 education can be, and serve as a genuine and enduring partnership between Columbia University and its neighbors.Responsibilities:Teach a class of about 20 students in the context of an integrated curriculum, possibly with a teaching partnerCommit to the academic and social mission of the school, which encompasses differentiation to meet the needs of a diverse communityCollaborate in the design and implementation of an integrated curriculumKeep careful anecdotal and assessment records and use them to write accurate, comprehensive student reportsFulfilling all duties, responsibilities, and commitments as outlined in the school's Guidebook and the organization's code of conductEngage in ongoing communication with parents/guardiansKeep careful anecdotal and assessment records to write accurate, comprehensive student reports that reflect student growth and support their future education Qualifications Qualifications/Requirements:B.A./B.S. degree or an equivalent degree or educational qualification from an accredited college or universityAt least two years of full-time teaching experience in K-8 public, parochial or independent schools beyond student teachingStrong skills sets in literacy, mathematics, social studies, and meeting the social and emotional needs of childrenStrong verbal and written communication skillsWide-ranging intellectual and educational interestsCommitment to equity and justice including knowledge and skills related to cultural competenciesFamiliarity with new technologies Preferred Qualifications:Advanced degree in a related fieldKnowledge of SpanishCU is dedicated to promoting and advocating for diversity and inclusion within our school community.
