Description We are seeking a Sr. Accountant to join our team in Chicago, Illinois. The successful candidate will be responsible for various accounting tasks, including journal entries, reconciliation of accounts, financial reporting, and assisting with annual audits. This role is key in maintaining the accuracy of our financial records and contributing to the overall efficiency of our operations. Responsibilities: Create, post and manage journal entries to support the preparation of financial statements Conduct regular ledger reconciliation to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance Assist in financial reporting duties, including making necessary accruals and adjustments, and providing variance explanations and documentation Support the preparation of annual financial statements and coordinate with external auditors to ensure timely completion of annual audits Work closely with the tax manager in preparing deliverables for annual tax returns Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation and procedures to mitigate risk and ensure the accuracy of reported financial results Keep abreast of relevant changes in accounting standards and assist in implementing necessary changes to ensure compliance with US GAAP Identify and implement process improvement opportunities, leveraging digital tools to automate and improve efficiency in processes Provide support for other duties on an as-needed basis including new tasks or special projects Adapt to changing priorities and balance multiple responsibilities simultaneously Requirements Demonstrated proficiency in Account Reconciliation Proficiency in Balance Sheet Reconciliation Experience with Bank Reconciliations Solid understanding of General Ledger management Expertise in creating and managing Journal Entries Proficient in Microsoft Excel Experience with Month End Close procedures Knowledge of NetSuite financial software Familiarity with Oracle financial software Proficiency in SAP financial software Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
