The Associate Director of Academic Research Operations (ADARO) at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the technical space portfolio that supports the academic research mission. This includes oversight in managing teaching labs, research labs, and core labs/technical spaces to ensure they meet the needs of faculty, staff, and students. The ADARO collaborates with the Senior Director of Campus Planning & Technical Services and the Vice Dean of Research to ensure the seamless operation and enhancement of these spaces, including equipment management and compliance with safety standards. The ADARO also collaborates with the Assistant Director of Campus Planning to ensure the technical space portfolio achieves and maintains proper space allocations commensurate with school’s needs.Required Education:Bachelor's Degree engineering or related field in life sciencesPreferred Education:Doctoral Degree engineering, or related life sciences field Master's Degree related fieldRequired Experience:5+ years experience managing complex research lab operations (i.e. research protocols, supervision, budgetary/financial management and oversight of AHJ guidelines and compliance codes) or equivalent combination of education and experience.Preferred Experience:10+ years relevant experience in higher education occupation involving research with budgetary oversightRequired Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Strong demonstrated organizational skills, with proven experience prioritizing work and coordinating multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to take on new task efficiently and adapt to different work assignments and personalities Detail-oriented, with excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills Excellent Windows Office experience, must be well versed in University Lab Complaince program Demonstrated ability to work closely with faculty and laboratory staff, and exceptional problem solving, critical thinking and customer service skills Leadership, decision-making at the mid- senior level management Demonstrable capability for partnering to meet organizational mission, objectives, and initiativesIn compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $130,000.00 to USD $150,000.00. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
