Job Title: Mechanic/Fabricator Job Description Responsibilities include troubleshooting and repairing machinery used in the reconditioning of steel and plastic drums. Additionally, you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining recycling machinery that reduces large steel and plastic containers to smaller pieces for sale to end users. The plant utilizes equipment such as plastic granulators, plastic and steel shredding systems, hydraulic units, electric motors from 1 HP to 125 HP, paint application systems and curing ovens, incinerators, and various other machinery used in our manufacturing process. You must have experience in electrical repair of 240 and 480 volt systems, mechanical transmission systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, and various industrial manufacturing equipment. Machine shop experience is a plus as we manufacture our own equipment for our facility's specific requirements. Work Site This is a fully on-site position in Newark, New Jersey. Work Environment Industrial plant. Due to the nature of the product, the plant is extremely dirty. You will be working within a small team of mechanics. The majority of the maintenance is reactive, though efforts are being made to implement a better preventive maintenance schedule. Monday-Thursday shift starts at 6:00AM and ends at 5:30PM. Once trained and more experienced, shifts can start as early as 3/4AM. Friday is PM day with a 4:30/5AM start and work until about noon.
