Description We are seeking a Customer Service Representative in the Health Insurance industry. This is a long-term contract employment opportunity. Responsibilities: Deliver high-quality customer assistance and satisfaction to all customers, ensuring all inquiries are resolved efficiently. Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of all Individual Benefits products offered including Life, Disability and other health products. Accurately process customer credit applications and maintain customer credit records. Take personal accountability for every customer interaction received and ensure follow-up with the customer as needed. Complete written correspondence and return all voice mail and email messages from customers and/or insurance company contacts promptly. Keep accurate documentation of conversations on all inbound and outbound calls and prepare notes for customer files. Stay up-to-date with all pertinent compliance and legal regulations relating to customer service in the insurance industry. Assist in the completion of current documentation for all processes and procedures. Provide assistance and mentoring to other customer service representatives as needed. Report any complaints or concerns to management in accordance with the company's customer complaint process. Actively work to maintain customer retention. Requirements Minimum of 2 years' experience in a customer service role, preferably within the health insurance industry Proficient in basic office skills including use of office equipment and business software Exceptional customer service skills with a demonstrated ability to handle customer queries and complaints Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy, both alphanumeric and numeric Ability to effectively manage time, multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment Excellent verbal and written communication skills High school diploma or equivalent required; further education in a related field will be considered an advantage Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, as well as independently when required Knowledge of health insurance policies, procedures, and regulations is desirable Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and training programs.
