Entry-Mid Level Cable Technician Location: Sandston, VA Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry to mid Level Cable Technician to join our data center team. The successful candidate will assist in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of data center cabling infrastructure, including fiber optic and copper cables. This role is ideal for individuals looking to start their career in the IT and data center industry. Key Responsibilities : Assist in the installation of data center cabling, including fiber optic and copper cables. Support technicians in mounting, racking, and configuring server hardware and network devices. Learn to troubleshoot and repair basic hardware and network issues under the guidance of experienced technicians. Perform regular maintenance and updates to cabling infrastructure. Ensure proper cable management and organization within the data center. Document procedures, system configurations, and network layouts. Comply with safety standards and data center security protocols. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications are a plus. Basic understanding of network infrastructure and data center operations. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures. Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs). Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights. Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
