THE POSITION The Department of Human Services,Bureau of Juvenile Justice Services,Loysville Youth Development Center is seeking a dedicated HVAC Refrigeration Technician who takes pride in keeping our buildings comfortable for the residents and employees. Apply today DESCRIPTION OF WORK An HVAC Refrigeration Technician performs skilled work at the journey level installing, maintaining, and repairing refrigeration and heating units toensure safe and efficient operations at our24/7 facility. You will respond to service calls and emergency situations, diagnose malfunctions, and use automated systems to monitor circulation in buildings. Additionally, you will interpret blueprints, schematics, and manuals and consult with facility maintenance managers aboutplans and specifications fornew or existing equipment. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Schedule issubject to emergency call-ins and may change based on operational needs. Overtime and travel as needed. Free parking Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Successful completion of the HVAC and Building Automation Technician trainee program (commonwealth title);or Three years of experience in the maintenance, repair, and installation of HVAC and refrigeration systems, units, and equipment including one year working with commercial or industrial HVAC or refrigeration equipment and controls;or An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes one year working with commercial or industrial HVAC or refrigeration equipment and controls. Special Requirements: All employees must obtain EPA Universal Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certification from an approved provider within 6 months of employment. This position requires an active motor vehicle license. Other Requirements: You must meet thePA residency requirement.
