The Role Lumen is seeking a transactional attorney to join the legal team, supporting the wholesale business with a focus on various communication and technology services. This role calls for a seasoned legal professional who embodies clarity and courage, with a growth mindset to navigate complex contract negotiations and agreement drafting. The attorney will provide legal guidance to Lumen's wholesale business and sales teams while maintaining a customer-obsessed approach. The ideal candidate will be eager to grasp the intricate aspects of Lumen's operations to deliver sound legal advice and risk analysis, aiding clients in reaching their commercial goals. Location This is a fully remote position open to candidates based anywhere in the U.S. that are actively licensed in the state/jurisdiction they reside. The Main Responsibilities Draft and negotiate sophisticated contracts to support wholesale business objectives. Provide sound legal advice and contract interpretations to internal sales teams and executive management. Clearly and concisely identify and explain the ramifications of complex contractual terms to business decision-makers and third parties. Manage and maintain wholesale contracts. Partner with multiple areas of the business in support of customer negotiations. Investigate and resolve contract disputes. Support clients in achieving their commercial goals. What We Look For in a Candidate Required Qualifications: J.D. degree from an accredited law school and active license to practice law in the state where the attorney will reside/work from. Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in contract drafting and negotiations. Outstanding communication and contract negotiation skills. Ability to quickly identify issues and effectively communicate the company's position. Organizational, time-management and prioritization capabilities; able to manage workload independently, efficiently and with minimal supervision. Sound business and legal judgment. Ability to negotiate, prioritize, and manage a large volume of contracts and associated issues. Must be a team player. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a technically oriented business, with telecommunications experience being a plus. A hybrid of firm plus corporate in-house experience preferred. Compensation The starting salary for this role differs based on the employee's primary work location. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual's qualifications. Location Based Pay Ranges $111480 - $148630 in these states: AR, ID, KY, LA, ME, MS, NE, SC, and SD. $117340 - $156450 in these states: AZ, AL, FL, GA, IN, IA, KS, MO, MT, NM, ND, OH, OK, PA, TN, UT, VT, WV, WI, and WY. $123210 - $164280 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NV, NH, NC, OR, and RI. $129080 - $172100 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DE, DC, IL, MD, MA, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.
