HarperCollins Publishers is seeking a Contracts Manager to join its fast-paced and dynamic Contracts Department. This position is responsible for preparing contracts and amendments for imprints in the Children’s publishing group.Hybrid NYC or remote status will be considered.Prepares, drafts, negotiates, and finalizes author contracts and amendments and other contracts as needed for the Children's publishing group.Reviews requests submitted by editors.Ensures effective operations by interfacing with Editorial, Royalty, Publishing Operations and Finance Departments.Interprets contract details to answer queries from internal personnel and third parties.Advises on author estate matters as required.Performs other tasks as needed and assigned.4-year college degree or equivalent work experience4+ years of prior independent contracts drafting and negotiating experience in the Contracts Department of a book publisher or other relevant experience requiredStrong verbal, communication, drafting and negotiating skillsStrong MS Office skillsExcellent attention to detail with exceptional organizational abilityAble to work independently and set priorities under pressureHarperCollins Publishers is a company full of people who are passionate about books.
