What Category Marketing contributes to Cardinal HealthThe Category Marketing Manager is responsible for leveraging manufacturer trade funds to develop marketing plans that increases product distribution and category growth. This includes building strong relationships with key suppliers, identifying new market opportunities, ensuring contractual marketing obligations are met, and driving successful execution of supplier and private label plans to meet category goals.AccountabilitiesThe Category Marketing Manageris responsible for marketing relationships with manufacturers to develop and manage annual marketing plans to increase product distribution and trialDemonstrate deep knowledge of marketing disciplines and concepts necessary for building business, marketing, product, and promotional plansDevelop annual promotional calendar withappropriate metrics and key performance indicators to ensure that the portfolio revenue and profitability growth is in line with strategic and company objectivesGain and drive cross-functional support among all stakeholders involved in theexecutionof thesolutionsand program portfolio to achieve key marketing and business objectives.Cross-functional groups including, but not limited to, category management, sales,inventory management, sourcing,communications, finance,retail operationsand others including external agencies, printers, and fulfillment centersDemonstrate strong financial acumen and logical decision making in the general business environmentUnderstand and demonstrate sound thought processes as it relates to forecasting, promotional pricing, deal structures, and assessing financial implicationsEnsure that all promotional, launch, and marketing activities align with the overall portfolio strategy and facilitate proper communication and collaboration with all applicable marketing resources including external agencies, printers, and fulfillment centersQualificationsBachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred4-8years of experienceinmarketing, advertising, or related field, preferredRetail marketing and/or business-to-business marketing experience preferredStrong business and financial acumenExcellent written and verbal communication skillsHighly organized and timeline drivenProficient to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, especially ExcelAdditional Preferred QualificationsDemonstrated success defining and launchingsolutions/productsStrong background inProduct/ProgramManagement, Product/ProgramMarketing and cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Pricing,Operations, Sourcing and Supply ChainExperience translating market and customer needs into clearly defined requirements, objectives, strategies, and tactics to drive sales & profitability of the businessStrong interpersonal and relationship-building skillsProven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authorityWhat is expected of you and others at thislevelMay participate in the development of policies and procedures to achieve specific goalsCompletes work independently; receives general guidance on new projects with work reviewed for purpose of meeting objectivesAble to work on complex projects of large scopeDevelops technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
