Key responsibilities The NACI CDP Technology LOB includes three verticals - Cloud Native/Strategic accounts, ISV, and Professional Services. The Cloud Native and Strategic accounts business includes some large Oracle cloud consuming accounts and contributes to 50% of the total technology LOB revenue. It's critical that we have an engineering manager for Cloud-native and Strategic business to ensure effective team leadership, driving bookings and consumption growth with strategic and cloud-native accounts, and driving organizational growth. The Sr. Manager role is necessary to maintain the smooth operation of the Cloud-native and Strategic accounts business by providing strategic direction, managing resources, and aligning team goals with the broader NACI Technology LOB objectives. The Sr. Manager of North America Cloud Engineering is responsible for providing leadership to a team chartered with accelerating pipeline, help the team to identify and progress opportunities to close and cloud consumption for Oracle Cloud Data Platform services. The Sr. Manager must exhibit a blend of technical, interpersonal, and leadership qualities that help effectively guide and support the team's success. The Manager's team consists of highly skilled cloud engineers that blend industry experience and Oracle database platform domain expertise to solve the hardest customer issues in the context of strategic sales engagements. The teams' responsibilities include thoroughly understanding customers' business requirements, leading the technical pursuits required to gather cloud bookings and assisting in the customer adoption of Oracle's Cloud capabilities. In addition, this leader will have a unique perspective based on cloud data platform technology trends and business drivers in the Cloud native industry vertical. They will contribute to key business decisions and customer engagement strategies and initiatives. They will be a vital contributor to our overall Technology Cloud Solution Engineering team. They must develop a comprehensive strategy and drive results by: Building a strong partnership with the sales team as a manager is crucial for fostering collaboration, aligning goals, and driving mutual success in generating pipeline, progress opportunities to close, accelerate the consumption and support the customer. Engaging with Key Cloud native and strategic customers and going beyond day-to-day transactions and focusing on long-term value, alignment with the customer's business objectives, and partnership development. Trusting team members with responsibility while providing guidance is essential to avoid micromanaging and foster a sense of ownership. When needed, direct involvement in tasks (player-coach) where actively working alongside the team while providing direction, support, and coaching. Working with the team members to help customers transform and evolve their business through the use of Oracle Cloud data platform Services. Taking responsibility for both successes and failures shows integrity and builds trust with the team. Leading cross-functional teams of Oracle subject matter experts to help customers design, plan, implement, and govern enterprise cloud strategies and solutions on time. Using domain expertise and analyze industry trends to create GTM design and coordinate as needed for emerging Oracle data platform solutions. Caring about the team's well-being, listens to their concerns, and supports their personal and professional growth. Year one critical success factors Development of positive relationships with the relevant Sales, Product Management and Engineering teams. Proficiency in Oracle Cloud data platform services and sales engineering engagement and execution processes and plans. Successfully engaged and built trusted advisor relationships with some of the largest and most strategic accounts and landed several meaningful and sizable wins. Preferred personal experience, characteristics and leadership skills The person stepping into this role should be a high-energy, strategic and technical expert leader possessing a solid sense of urgency with a performance-based track record of success. They will have demonstrated successful expertise with a cloud product technology company. They will be technically adept, possessing a broad combination of skills and experiences reflecting the complexities of Oracle and Oracle's customers. This role requires technical cloud subject matter expertise and the capability to influence critical and timely ground-breaking change for our customers The successful candidate: 5+ years of managerial experience leading and directing teams with many members located remotely and others that support success through a matrixed environment. Proven track record of inspiring and encouraging the team to achieve their best fosters a positive and productive work atmosphere. Efficient management of tasks, priorities, and deadlines ensures that the team remains focused, and goals are met. An experienced and credible technical expert with recognized deep enterprise cloud technical and Oracle and non-Oracle data platform skills. Solid understanding of pre-sales technical customer engagements; deep experience from a pre-sales engineering manager's point of view; solid understanding of technology evaluation and buying cycle and the forces at play, the specific value chain of the industry with the latest trends, and how technology plays into those. A multifaceted technically-astute manager who understands how to develop pipeline around cloud data platform products, effective ways to progress opportunities to close and promote cloud consumption. A validated and hard-working, high-energy, motivating leader who is transparently passionate and is capable of encouraging and galvanizing an organization. An outstanding communicator who can write, present and effectively adjust messages to meet individual audiences and organizations. Establishes business objectives, metrics and plans to ensure attainment. Provides leadership on technical cloud solutions and customer success. Identifies gaps and enhancements to influence engineering roadmaps for customer driven features. May deliver presentation demonstrations to high level customers and at conferences and events. Maintains expertise by staying current on emerging technologies. Manages the implementation of solutions and ensures successful deployments by providing direction on code development and scripting. Oversees the support of customers from Proof of Concept (POC) through production deployment of services, management of resource configuration, planning, and customer education/training. Acts as spokesperson for Oracle cloud and an escalation path for relationships. May be eligible for equity and compensation deferral. Eligible for commission with an estimated pay mix of 60/40.
