Position Summary: The Department of Psychology and Counseling at Arkansas State University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Psychology. Applicants should have expertise in experimental psychology, broadly defined. A broad range of areas of specialization will be considered as long as the applicant is equipped and trained to teach physiological or biological psychology at the undergraduate level. Position to begin August 2025 Duties & Responsibilities: One of the primary courses candidates will teach will be Physiological Psychology. Depending on the background and interest of the candidate, other courses within our curriculum, such as Introduction to Neuroscience, Experimental Psychology, or Learning Processes will be available. We also encourage new faculty to develop other classes in their specialty area. Faculty have the opportunity to work with and mentor students as part of their research labs. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: We are interested in individuals from a wide range of academic backgrounds who will be able to teach classes on physiological or biological psychology. General Days/Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Additional hours as requested and/or needed Regular and reliable attendance Other: Approximately 10 faculty are in the core undergraduate BS Psychology degree program, and there are many opportunities for collaborations within the program with faculty who have a wide range of specializations.
