Description We are looking for a meticulous Staff Accountant to join our team in the Wholesale Distribution industry, based in Beloit, Wisconsin, United States. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity. The Staff Accountant will be instrumental in handling accounts payable, assisting in tax calculations, and managing various tasks within the accounting department. Responsibilities: Oversee and manage all aspects of accounts payable. Assist with cost accounting for inventory items, including duties, incentives, billbacks, and more. Aid in the calculation and reporting of Sales/Use/Tobacco Tax. Compute quarterly royalty payments for foreign vendors. Apply understanding of accrual-based accounting to ensure transactions are correctly posted to the appropriate period. Draft and balance journal entries and general ledger accounts. Contribute to other tasks as needed within the accounting department. Familiarize with different accounting software like NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP for efficient task completion. Assist in bank reconciliations and month-end close process. Process customer credit applications and maintain accurate customer credit records. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Minimum of three years of experience in a similar role within the Wholesale Distribution industry Proficiency in accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP Solid experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Familiarity with Bank Reconciliations Experience with General Ledger and Journal Entries Ability to handle Month End Close activities Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines Knowledge of applicable laws, codes and regulations Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
