Serves as a technical expert for craft or operational area; performs editorial and technical reviews.Maintains expert knowledge of the stations Administrative Control Program while performing functions supporting the procedure process.Ensures documents comply with current procedure standards, supports the needs of requesting organizations and complies with current administrative controls, Unit Operating Licenses and other regulations and commitments.Minimum RequirementsHigh school diploma/GED plus seven (7) years applicable trade experience (Electrical, Maintenance or I&C).OR, AAS degree in Engineering or related physical science plus five (5) years' experience in maintenance, engineering and/or nuclear plant operations as a technician, engineer or operator.OR, Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related physical science from an accredited college or university plus three (3) years' experience in maintenance, engineering and/or nuclear plant operations as a technician, engineer or operator.Must meet requirements to enter Security protected and vital areas of the Radiologically Controlled Access (RCA) areas.Must become qualified NYR01, Procedure Preparer within three (3) months of assuming position.Must achieve Procedure Professional Association (PPA) Writer Certification within one (1) year of assuming position. Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications:Associates degree.PPA Writer certification.Nuclear experience.Experience in preparing descriptive copy using publishing tools and writer guidelines and document verification.Experience using documentation publishing software.Technical communicator skills.Good communication skills and demonstrated strong customer service orientation.Skilled in the use of computers.Nuclear requirement:Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to serve as a member of the Emergency Response Organization (ERO) and will be expected to fulfill their obligation as an ERO member.Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to support a refueling or short-notice outage.This includes line roles and responsibilities as necessary to execute outage activities.These are conditions of employment at PVNGS.Major Accountabilities1) Translates Engineering documents and develops Maintenance output documents, Administrative Controls, retest requirements to ensure safe and efficient operation of Palo Verde, performance of troubleshooting activities and corrective maintenance in accordance with Updated Final Safety Analysis Report (UFSAR), Quality Assurance Program Description (QAPD), Technical Specifications, vendor recommendations, Engineering output documents, and Environmental compliance guidelines. 2) Reviews assigned procedures for technical accuracy and the bases are appropriately implemented. 3) Performs plant walk-downs as needed, reviews proposed changes to procedures and standards based upon human factors principles and effectiveness 4) Performs cross-discipline reviews of procedures from other departments. 5) Attends training for technician level activities as appropriate to support the front line work groups in the field to obtain outage and non-outage scheduled goals. 6) Serves on special projects, training programs, investigations and corrective actions to expeditiously achieve the desired results upon request. 7) Performs programmatic and Writer's Guide compliance reviews. 8) Performs Problem Identification and Resolution evaluations and prepares response. 9) Maintains open communication with respective discipline personnel while observing procedure performance, providing review resolution and providing feedback. 10) Performs periodic procedure reviews required by the Quality Assurance Program Description. 11) Provides Maintenance personnel with information about nuclear power plant systems, applicable codes, regulations, industry standards and station policies, programs and procedures. Hybrid Role: This position combines working in the office and at home, based on the needs of the business. The schedule will be determined with the hired employee and leadership, but the ultimate decision is the company's. Any PVGS employees may be called upon for random Fitness for Duty (FFD) testing during scheduled working hours. Employees, if off-site, must report to FFD at Palo Verde as soon as reasonably practicable, but no more than 120 minutes after being notified. Employees who are onsite when notified will have no more than 60 minutes to report after being notified.
