Description As a Creative Director and people manager in the Brand Innovation Lab team, you will be leading one-of-a-kind campaigns for a wide range of global brands from creative brief to launch. You'll report to the head of the FIRST pod and partner with solutions managers to lead and grow the Financial Services and Hospitality business. You'll be responsible for managing direct reports that may include creative directors, art directors, copywriters and designers. You and your team will partner closely with content producers and design technologists to create innovative programs using the full Amazon canvas (i.e. Prime Video, TNF, Alexa, Twitch, IMDb, Amazon Music, Amazon Live). You'll lead projects and own client relationships, focusing on creating work that benefits the end customer while pushing the creative envelope. You will investigate Amazon/3P data to generate and leverage insights based on observed customer behavior. And, through a deep understanding of Amazon's suite of tools and services, will recommend campaign frameworks and activations that balance advertiser goals with customers' expectations of frictionless experiences. In this role, you will craft and steer high-level creative strategies that solve business needs for brands across Travel, Financial Services (insurance, banking/payments, investment, personal finance), Restaurant/QSR and Retail advertising verticals. You'll think across Amazon platforms and beyond, manage complex projects, and create tailored content across channels to drive the marketing objectives of advertisers. You will effectively communicate with key stakeholders and external media and creative agencies. You will work with senior leadership to devise strategies and roadmaps, create processes, and establish best practices that drive operational excellence. And finally, you will work towards preserving a team culture of collaboration, teamwork, innovation, and inspiration-and foster positive internal, client, and agency relationships. You'll provide mentorship across a variety of creative disciplines, developing your direct reports' skills and helping guide their growth and careers. Key job responsibilities Define the creative strategy for multiple advertisers Concept, design, and execute innovative ad campaigns and experiences for global brands, from developing creative briefs and refining Think Big ideas to launching campaigns and managing end of campaign reporting and award submissions Independently direct campaigns and collaborate with internal teams, clients, and external agency partners Partner with and/or lead creative/art directors, copywriters, designers, solutions managers, and content producers to create customer-focused solutions that deliver on advertiser objectives Develop and manage the careers/growth of direct reports, providing feedback and coaching opportunities Direct creative disciplines outside your area of functional expertise and provide feedback in all stages of the creative development process Deliver high-quality copy, content and assets for campaigns across Amazon touch-points Provide in-depth understanding of copywriting for all formats-digital, print, out-of-home, video/audio scripts, gaming and more Synthesize strategic research and/or data to develop campaign ideas Lead the creation of presentations; present ideas and concepts to clients, agencies, and internally Make creative trade-off decisions between teams, clients, and end-customer needs Measure and evaluate current processes within the department and continuously improve them through documentation Mentor and inspire other creatives A day in the life In this role you will have the opportunity to learn, drive experimentation, manage, operate and evolve inventive ad programs for Amazon's largest advertising clients. A typical day may include: Reviewing and improving campaign ideas and presentation decks Presenting a campaign to brand clients and their partner media agency Working through creative messaging feedback with Legal and PR Having a one-on-one with a direct report on growth opportunities Reviewing video edits for a campaign launch Writing documentation to improve creative processes About the team Amazon's Brand Innovation Lab works with brands and agencies to develop campaigns that engage consumers at multiple stages of the marketing journey, building brand awareness, relevance, consideration, acquisition and loyalty. Basic Qualifications You must submit a portfolio to be considered for this job Body of work that demonstrates account/campaign planning, creative direction, visual design skills, and interactive/digital advertising experiences Proven ability to ideate for film, print, digital, out-of-home, experiential and social Experience as a Creative Director at either agency or advertiser, with a copywriter or art director background Minimum of 4 years experience managing creatives, including creative directors, art directors, copy writers, and/or interactive designers Experience working with Travel, Financial Services, Insurance, Restaurant, and/or Retail brands Passion for experimentation and innovation Relentlessly high creative standards and exceptional attention to detail Data-driven and obsessed with measurable impact of a campaign Ability to juggle many projects and consistently deliver results despite competing priorities Excellent presentation skills and ability to gracefully defend creative decisions to leadership, driving creative alignment with leadership and stakeholders Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly entrepreneurial environment with multiple different stakeholders and regulatory requirements Preferred Qualifications Award-winning portfolio 10 years or more experience in digital advertising Experience in marketing Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $139,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $230,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
