Architect, Implement and maintain all aspects of information technology systems including performance, integrity, security, recovery, standards, and interface requirements. This position evaluates and recommends technologies required to support cloud environments, database, operating systems, enterprise applications, and all other hardware/software that supports the Central Arizona Project. Provide development, customization, and configuration support across CAP in all operating systems, software applications, and technical hardware installations. Some of the responsibilities include: Meets with CAP department managers and staff to define application requirements, determine priorities; implements new and revised systems, and resolves complex application, database, network system problems with minimal external assistance. Must make crucial decisions affecting production operations. Identifies gaps in architecture between current state and future design. Develops plans to ensure best practices, system designs, and technology standards are mapped to CAP business strategies Determines job priorities based on criticality and business need. Performs database and software installations, patching and upgrades. Coordinates the installation and modification of software by outside vendors. Tests software/hardware to ensure appropriate functionality. Monitors and tests hardware and software to insure appropriate functionality and performance. Develops strategies and standards to maintain system stability, sufficient bandwidth, and integration of devices follow best practices. Performs extensive problem determination and resolution for CAP technology. Conducts research on emerging technologies that will increase cost effectiveness and system flexibility. About the Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited university with a technology-based emphasis plus five (5) years of experience programming, designing, and implementing computer application systems including at least three (3) years with large scale enterprise systems. OR an Associate's Degree plus seven (7) years of experience; OR a High School Diploma or equivalent plus nine (9) years of experience. Must have a strong working knowledge of application design, implementation and administration of systems such as Oracle databases, SQL Server, Azure SQL; experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure; demonstrated ability to interpret technical information and apply it to corporate goals; experience developing business information flows and business process modeling and analyzing business requirements; ability to write technical documentation, procedures, and correspondence; strong interpersonal communications skills and professionalism. A valid driver's license and ability to maintain a good driving record is required. Preference is given to candidates with any of these certifications: Oracle Database Administrator Certified Associate, or higher, or current Microsoft SQL server certifications.
