Job Title: Warehouse Supervisor Job Description The main function of a Warehouse Supervisor is to oversee warehouse employees to meet business objectives for assigned departments regarding safety, quality productivity, responsiveness, and more. Hard Skills Experience directly supervising and managing employees Ability to lead and motivate others Proficiency in performing progressive discipline (verbal counseling, write-up, termination) Familiarity with Quality Network problem-solving process Knowledge of Workplace Organization (WPO) process Experience with Timekeeping System (TKS) updating Proficiency in using A-3 reporting format Ability to conduct and document safety observation tours Proficiency in performing daily SOP audit checks Soft Skills Counseling and supporting employees with their needs and concerns Commending positive performance behaviors and discouraging negative ones Engaging workforce for ideas and problem-solving Conducting daily meetings for two-way communication Planning daily workloads in advance Supporting colleagues to optimize shift performance Observing contractual requirements Keeping General Supervisor Shop Committee informed Job Type This is a contract position with a duration of 12 Month(s). Work Site This is a fully on-site position in LANSING, MI. Work Environment This role operates in a 2 shift system with the opening for the 2nd shift (2:30pm - 11pm). The 1st shift runs from 6am - 2:30pm. Estimated 10 hours of overtime a week is expected, with flexibility required to work both shifts. Schedules are Mon-Fri and weekends as needed, potentially working 7+ days a week for multiple weeks in a row. Dress code is business casual, no open-toed shoes, and no heels. The facility is a parts processing center for the GM Dealership network, handling bulk shipments of automotive parts, which are then staged, packed, and shipped to GM Product Distribution Centers (PDCs).
