The Operator assists with the operation of the pipeline system by performing routine mechanical equipment repairs, preventative maintenance efforts in all functions within operations, and housekeeping throughout reporting location. The Operator assists in maintenance and/or operation of various types of Company property such as buildings, machinery, rights of way, and pipelines. This is a key training phase intended to build an individual’s progression to a higher level of performance and expertise.Primary responsibilities include (but not limited to):Technical Duties (with supervision and/or under direction)Develop understanding of natural gas transmission pipeline industryProvide routine assistance with assigned duties in areas of pipeline and compressor station operations and maintenance activitiesPerform or assist with basic electrical tasks, if requested, as allowed under NFPA70E such as routine maintenance and replacement of existing single phase electrical equipmentUtilize all applicable IT systemsComplete all criteria in Qualifications section above as well as other items in the “Job Qualification Task List” as incorporated by referenceOther duties and training as assignedComplianceCreate/maintain all required documentation related to assignmentsAttain and maintain proficiency in performing Operator Qualification tasksComply with all applicable regulations, Company policies and procedures (OSHA, DOT, NFPA 70E, etc.)TrainingDefensive drivingFirst aid/CPRCBT / ExxTend learning modulesOther coursework and proof of skill as required by law, regulation, or Company policy or procedureNew employee safety orientationSafety 101SafetyParticipate in safety presentationsLearn emergency proceduresUnderstand and use Sec 65 of the Company O&MParticipate in Company safety programMinimum:Entry-level experienceHigh school diploma or GEDAbility to use Microsoft Office products Valid driver’s license and maintain a DOT Physical CardMust reside within a 40-mile radius of reporting locationPreferred: Bachelor’s degree, Associate’s degree or two-year technical degreeExperience with a natural gas pipelineOther requirements:Operator I is a probationary position, must have ability to work 8- or 12-hour rotating shifts (with varying days off)
