FIBER DESIGNER CONTACT: Matthew Cover - (216) 573-5665 BENEFITS: Yes SCHEDULE/ENVIRONMENT: 100% Remote Opportunity DESCRIPTION: As a Fiber Designer, you will be responsible for developing and designing detailed Outside Plant (OSP) system layouts. Join an employee owned company as they build out an MRE design team to support telecom and utilities. Develop and Design Detailed OSP System Layouts, including Route Analysis, Fiber Optic Cable Placement, Pole Line and Underground Conduit Systems, and other Related Infrastructure Telecom Design and Documentation of OSP and Fiber Design, Documentation, Specifications, and Construction Administration Perform Field Surveys and Site Visits to Collect Data and Assess Potential Construction Challenges Create Detailed Drawings and Maps using GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and CAD (Computer-Aided Design) Software Work closely with Municipal Authorities and other Utility Services to obtain necessary Permits and ensure compliance with Local, State, and Federal Regulations Monitor Project Progress, providing updates and adjustments to Designs as needed to address Field Changes and Challenges Analyze and select Appropriate Materials and Technologies to Optimize Network Performance and Cost-Efficiency Partnering with Designers for Final Drawings and Calculations Researching design solutions and Industry best practice MUST HAVES Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in a relevant engineering practice High School Diploma Design experience within AutoCAD Design experience within ArcGIS (Geographic Information Systems) Fiber Splice diagram creation Fiber to the Home Experience with OH/UG Fiber placements NICE TO HAVES Ability to research and problem solve Ability to communicate with peers Strong attention to detail Strong communication skills Organizational skills About Actalent Actalent is a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions.
