Health policy and advocacy organization located in East Harlem, Manhattan is seeking to hire a Temporary-to-Permanent Membership Coordinator This position will start ASAP, requiring 2 days on-site (Tues/Wed) weekly, typically from 9am-5pm with flexibility after or before hours as needed for events. This position requires an individual with a strong focus on customer service and membership management, capable of effectively interacting with members in person, over the phone, and via email. Reporting to the Director, the primary responsibilities include managing membership engagement of a 2000 membership base, orchestrating annual events, and managing fellowship and student grant programs. Coordinator will also ensure smooth office operations by providing comprehensive administrative support.Responsibilities:Act as the front-facing representative, providing exceptional customer service to members in person, over the phone, and via emailMaintain accurate membership records and manage the membership databasePrepare and analyze membership statistical reports and provide insights for improvementProvide support for membership recruitment, retention, and renewal effortsAssist with strategies for improving the efficiency and impact of membership programsAbility to occasionally work flexible hours on evenings and weekends, as necessaryTake the lead in planning and executing events, including overseeing evening events onsiteMonitor event registration numbers and adjust logistics, such as room setup and catering, accordinglyCollaborate with the Communications Department to create and distribute event announcements across various platformsCoordinate with Conference Center staff to ensure seamless execution of events, including setup and AV needsDevelop and manage correspondence for event participants, speakers, and student grant recipientsAssist the Director in administering Student Grant and Fellowship programsAssist with Committee Management of Student grant and Fellowship programsTake ownership of tasks from inception to completion, demonstrating proactive initiative throughoutProactively drive efforts to expand Fellowship/Membership through outreach and engagement initiativesQualifications:Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with a strong emphasis on customer serviceProven ability to interact effectively with diverse partners, both internal and externalSelf-motivated with a proactive attitude and a track record of taking initiativePrevious office experience demonstrating organizational prowess and attention to detailProficiency in event planning, with the capability to manage projects from start to finishFlexibility to work independently and adapt to changing prioritiesWillingness to work evenings as required for events approximately (1-5 a month)Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) requiredSalesforce and/or Association Management Software's experience a plusEducation and Experience:Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) highly perferred1+ years of related experience in either an academic healthcare institution or not-for-profit organizationCompensation/Benefits: 63-65K when perm / in-line while temp Great benefits packageBeacon Hill is an Equal Opportunity Employer that values the strength diversity brings to the workplace.
