+-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ Position Description Summary APT Research is hiring aContracts Specialistto be responsible for tracking business proposals and contracts, maintaining contracting portals (Government and Industry), data entry into Cost Point - Projects and Contracts modules, and the initial review of all incoming correspondence. The ideal candidate will be highly organized to record incoming actions, track suspense on performance, review contractual requirements, non-disclosure agreements, teaming agreements, terms and conditions, and adherence to policies and legal requirements. Responsibilities: Coordinating with all departments, assistance with contract actions, participation in negotiations, tracking changes in/addendums to existing contracts, gaining approvals and executing distribution of contract actions (awards and modifications). Responsible for maintaining logs for the weekly Contracts meetings. Analyzes and interprets federal government regulations including FAR, DFARS, other agency supplements, and Executive Orders and assists with simple to complex risk analysis. Monitors contract requirements, and periods of performance (POPs) to ensure schedules, program progress, and reporting are achieved. Provides status and coordination with departments, personnel, and management, as needed. Works with Contracts Manager to improve processes and procedures of contract functions, when required, relating to current templates (contracts, subcontracts and various agreements) with standard APT terms and conditions and for efficient maintenance of the contracts database. Coordinates with the finance department to assist with approval/payment of invoices and correct billing/collection of contractual revenues. Perform other duties as assigned by the Contracts Manager and/or Company Executives. Required Experience/Education: A completed Bachelor's Degree in Business, or a related discipline (preferred experience working with contracts and subcontracts). 3-7 years of related experience (this position has flexibility in labor categories) Detail oriented, strong organizational skills, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Reliable self-starter and must work well under pressure and be able to meet tight deadlines. Proficient user of Microsoft Office Suite. Computer savvy with ability to maintain logins/passwords on multiple Government/Industry contract portals and to accomplish and manage data entry in the Contracts and Projects Modules of CostPoint or similar database. Knowledge of contracting practices, laws, acquisition regulations (FAR/DFAR/Supplements) and commercial contracts. Some contract preparation knowledge or experience. Some knowledge of various forms of government contracts including, but not limited to, cost plus fixed fee (CPFF), firm fixed price (FFP), time and materials (TandM), indefinite delivery indefinite quantity (ID/IQ), Other Transaction Agreements (OTA), multiple award contracts (MACs), commercial contracts, and GSA schedules. Security Clearance Requirement: Must be a U.S Citizen Preferred Experience: Ability to study and obtain a National Contracts Management Administration CFCM or CPCM certification. Deltek Costpoint experience is strongly preferred. Goverment contracting experience strongly preferred. Essential Job Functions: Work Environment: Office environment
