Job Summary The Compliance Specialist is responsible for supporting the overall contracting processes for the organization, leading as the main point of contact on new and renegotiated contracts, consulting with internal and external experts on legal and regulatory compliance, and executing and monitoring contract administration activities. In addition, the Compliance Specialist will support the organization's quality management system. They support the organization in its strategies for mitigating risk, conducting audits, adhering to policies and procedures and ensuring business continuity. Responsibilities Execute contract administration process, liaising with procurement, legal teams, and internal stakeholders to review and negotiate contract terms, ensuring legal and regulatory compliance. Advise on contractual obligations and explain terms and conditions to the appropriate stakeholders, managers and interested parties. create language standards for existing and new contracts. Act as the main point of contact through the contract lifecycle. Schedule and execute contract review and negotiation meetings, document actions, analyze risk, and communicate across stakeholders to meet contract signing deadlines, obligations and deliverables. When necessary, coordinate with stakeholders to gather necessary information to initiate request for information (RFI) and request for proposals (RFP). Maintain and review contract files and records maintaining an organized system of physical and digital records. Prepare contract status reports, verifying accuracy and resolving discrepancies in line with company rules and guidelines. Ensure that employees understand and comply with company contracts; coordinate resolution of contractual issues as required. Ensure timely and accurate communication with all parties involved in contracts, including any changes, updates, or amendments to agreements. Audit contracts for renewals, proactively communicate to key stakeholders renewal dates, prepare contract documents for renewal. Provide administrative support for a formalized quality management system that documents processes, procedures, and responsibilities for achieving quality policies and objectives. Support activities such as, staff training, internal audits and reporting on quality system performance ensuring that the organizations strategic initiatives are met. Monitor access to the organization's software and servers, ensuring policies and procedures are being executed. Activities include auditing access to systems, monitoring usage reports, making license change recommendations, and reconciliation against budgeted licenses. Other contributions commensurate with level and experience as required. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in business or finance/accounting A can-do approach and the ability to achieve results in a high-pressure environment Excellent attention to detail and time-management Embrace a constantly changing work environment The ability to work both independently and as a member of a team Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to learn additional programs as needed Excellent customer service Experience managing multiple priority contracts and projects Experience in supplier management Experience negotiating and managing contracts Desired Qualifications Master's degree in business or finance/accounting Bachelor's degree in law or legal studies Ability to quickly understand financial software packages Familiar with University of Michigan policies and procedures Experience with M-Pathways and Business Objects Work Locations Michigan Language Assessment is seeking candidates located in or around Ann Arbor and supports a fully remote work from home schedule with occasionally scheduled in person activities.
