9128BR Position Title: Senior Director of Advancement Organization: Development Job Responsibilities: Develop an understanding of the educational, research, operational, and financial needs and goals of their assigned College(s) and units. Closely collaborate with deans and other academic leaders to identify fundraising priorities in assigned College(s) and units, develop the case for support, and articulate those priorities internally and externally. Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward leadership annual gift and major gift donors and prospects in coordination with faculty, staff, and volunteers through the proper clearance process. Manage a portfolio of approximately 80-100 prospects, creating fundraising strategies for those prospects, and regularly solicit gifts of $100,000 or more. Significant proposal facilitation with other advancement officers is also expected. Supervise a staff focused on producing high annual and major gifts; measure and monitor activity and progress. Guide and motivate staff to perform at their highest level and to advance their career aspirations. Assist in planning, coordinating, and directing special events for donors and prospects. Make appropriate use of time and resources; plan travel efficiently; continuously update the prospect management database with information related to donor strategies, proposals, contacts, and results. Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Vice President for College Advancement. Work Location: Hybrid - Remote/On-campus Job Summary: The Senior Director of Advancement: Works closely with the university senior administrators, department leadership and faculty to raise the necessary support for identified priorities. Manages a portfolio of approximately 80-100 prospects, creates fundraising strategies for all prospects, develops relationships with donors, solicits major gifts above the $100,000 level and coordinates effective donor stewardship. Cultivates relationships with alumni, parents, companies and other friends and collaborates with the teams in planned giving, principal giving, alumni relations, regional advancement, parent engagement, and corporate and foundation relations to encourage donors to support RIT initiatives. Provides strategic leadership and direct supervision to a group of accomplished gift and engagement officers. Collaborating closely with the Institute-wide Advancement team, they spearhead initiatives that drive forward the institution's mission and foster enduring relationships with key stakeholders. This position reports to the Assistant Vice President for College Advancement and is expected to work collaboratively and constantly seek ways to increase effectiveness and efficiency to reach yearly metrics. Senior Director of Advancement for the Kate Gleason College of Engineering, the College of Engineering Technology and the Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences. The Senior Director of Advancement is responsible for developing and executing the fundraising strategies for the colleges in conjunction with their respective deans and faculty. The colleges prepare students to meet the existing and future needs of industry and solve significant engineering and computing challenges. Laboratories, research centers, maker spaces, design studios and project rooms house the latest equipment to foster a creative and innovative learning environment. The Sr. Director of Advancement provides strategic leadership and direct supervision to a group of accomplished gift and engagement officers.
