This job was posted by : For more information, please see: NGT MECHANICS FALL INTO FOUR CATEGORIES DEPENDING UPON EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND SKILL SET. MECHANIC (D) - Duties include but are not limited to: Perform preventative maintenance such as oil and filter change, brake adjustments and vehicle/trailer lubrication. Removing tires from a vehicle, dismounting, mounting, and reinstalling on assigned vehicle. Inspection of Wheels and Hubs, cleaning and checking wheel bearings, packing bearings with grease, installing new wheel seals, installing new brake shoes and kits. Fix and repair lights and wiring, complete rewiring of trailers, remove and replace starters, alternators and batteries. Minor torching and welding work as assigned. Knowledge of all parts of a suspension system and how to repair and replace them as needed. General work area clean up, sweeping floor, keeping benches clean, trash and waste removal. Proper disposal of waste oil All other duties as assigned MECHANIC (C) - Duties include but are not limited to: Skilled and competent in all duties described above under the MECHANIC (D) classification. Removal, repair and replace rear ends, transmissions, and clutches of a CMV. Skilled in the proper use of the A/C machine. Ability to check, test, and repair electrical systems and batteries. Trained in proper maintenance & repair of suspension systems, airbags, leveling valves, leaf springs, torque arms and equalizers. Ability to install, maintain, diagnose & repair Tri Pac Generator systems. Ability to install, maintain, diagnose& repair Hydraulic Wet systems. Skilled and certified to perform visual and leakage tests on propane tank trailers. General work area clean up, sweeping floor, keeping benches clean, trash and waste removal. Proper disposal of waste oil. All other duties as assigned. MECHANIC (B) - Duties include but are not limited to: Skilled and competent in all duties described above under the MECHANIC (D) and MECHANIC (C) classification. Skilled and competent in the installation, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of CMV clutch systems. Skilled and competent in using A/C recovery and charge machine, servicing and changing components of the A/C system. : , Skilled and competent in performing vehicle alignments using laser alignment equipment and tire balancing systems. Skilled and competent in the installation, maintenance, diagnostics and repairing of air brake systems. Ability to indemnify driveline problems, proper diagnostics and repair of drivelines. Displays a high level of skill in diagnostics and repair of internal and external engine problems, including complete rebuilds and valve adjustments. Ability to properly use torches, ban saw and welders to perform both major and minor fabrication projects. General work area clean up, sweeping floor, keeping benches clean, trash and waste removal. Proper disposal of waste oil. All other duties as assigned. MECHANIC (A) Duties include but are not limited to: Skilled and competent in all duties described above under the MECHANIC (D), MECHANIC (C), & MECHANIC (B) classifications. Have a majority of the tools necessary to perform whatever is asked of him Have a current Commercial Drivers License with hazmat & tanker endorsements. Be willing and able to fill in and drive as needed to meet the needs of the company.
