Morgan Stanley Investment Management Inc. seeks to fill the position of Vice President, Data & Technology in New York, NY.Work as a quantitative developer to develop the algorithmic-trading platform that sits at the intersection of investment decision-making and automated trading. Collaborate with the research team, the portfolio managers, and the traders to capture business requirements and translate them into technological solutions. Integrate technological solutions into the production environment. Work closely with researchers and investment professionals to analyze data, build models, generate signals for alpha, and to auto-execute the orders generated. Perform end-to-end development, including UI development/data analysis/modeling on the front end and integration of solutions into on-pre infrastructure in back-end. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field of study plus five (5) years of experience in the position offered or five (5) years of experience as a Programmer, Consultant, Associate, Vice President, or related occupation. Requires five (5) years of experience with: working with Open-Source technology and performing full-stack development; working with fixed-income securities and products and reference data sets; Developing multi-tier systems using Java or Scala; Testing and mocking frameworks including JUnit and Mockito; Scripting with a UNIX environment using Python 3, R 3.x, bash and utilities including: Awk, Sed, and jq; Working on Typescript-based web application frameworks and libraries including Angular or ReactJS; Source-control management using Git and Atlassian Bitbucket for development and code review; Issue-tracking using Atlassian Jira; Working within a UNIX-based, enterprise-level development environment; Utilizing build tools including Gradle and Make; Working with relational database management systems and unstructured and NoSQL databases; Writing queries on relational database; Analyzing and optimizing the query plan on relational database; and Data processing in XML and JSON over REST, SOAP, and MQ. Minimum Salary: 200000 Maximum Salary: 250000 Salary Unit: Yearly
