The role of a Machinist is to ensure the smooth, continuous operation of the machines, within the facility and its surrounding grounds. This position is instrumental to the safety of Homeland Vinyl employees and overall efficiency of the various manufacturing areas. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND REQUIRED SKILLS: Work With Large & Small Equipment. Follow established work procedures for machining, fitting, and repairing large equipment parts. Load, feed, align, and secure mechanism with a forklift or by hand depending on weight or application. Plan Machining. Plan machining by work orders, blue prints, engineering plans, materials, or other specifications. Prepare work sketches and design fixtures, tooling, and experimental parts to meet needs. Perform Machining Operations. Program, set up, and adjust mills, lathes, and many advanced variation tools to perform precision machining operations. Ensure Efficiency. Visually observe and listen to operating machines and equipment to diagnose malfunctions and ensure operational efficiency. Must have at least 10 years related experience (preferred). ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Functional Knowledge. Must be able to machine parts to dimensional specifications from blueprints and hand drawings. Interpersonal Skills. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills. Must demonstrate an attention to detail and good judgment. Flexibility. Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours depending on company demands. Must be able to work in all types of conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises. Salary negotiable based on experience. 12 hour shifts either 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am
