Greenwich Country Day School seeks a Caregiver for our Carriage House Child Care Program, to start immediately. This is a full-time, 10-month/year position. Hours are Monday - Friday, 7:45 am - 4:30 pm. The Carriage House is a multi-age, child-centered, open classroom providing care for infants and toddlers from 8 weeks to 3 years of age . The program is open to children of GCDS faculty and staff. The range is $22-35 per hour. At The Carriage House, we believe that play is learning for young children and offers many developmental opportunities for exploration. In addition to the nurturing care provided by our program, an emergent curriculum helps lay the foundation for future growth and learning. The ideal candidate will possess prior experience working with this age group and draw upon this background to work as part of a cohesive teaching team in a creative, open-concept program, to develop and implement our curriculum while providing direct care for infants and toddlers. Responsibilities Include: Team teaching of established curriculum Supervision of children Provision of a safe, joyful, and inclusive environment Regular communication with program administrators and parents regarding children's daily routines Required Qualifications: CDA, Bachelors or Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field Prior experience and demonstrated ability to work with infants and toddlers Working knowledge of current child development, ECE theories, and practices Solid knowledge of the domains of development (physical, intellectual, social, and emotional development as it pertains to stages within the first three years of life) Knowledge of infant & toddler sign language and ASL Open to new philosophies and standards of care Familiar with NAEYC's Developmentally Appropriate Practices A passion for celebrating and educating young children Demonstrated success operating in a manner which promotes a healthy, safe environment Respectful, consistent, loving, compassionate, patient manner Effective communication and interpersonal skills Some technological proficiency including familiarity with smartphone applications, iPad, laptop, and desktop computers Resilience and ability to work in an established team Certification in Infant & Toddler CPR and first-aid Demonstrated ability using positive discipline methodology Commitment to building a diverse, equitable, and inclusive school community Personal traits appropriate for nurturing the growth of children - must be energetic, creative, flexible, patient, and have an inexhaustible sense of humor Interested candidates are invited to use the link provided to submit a cover letter and resume to Raquel Salcedo, Director of Recruiting & Talent Powered by JazzHR
