Summary of Position Falvey Insurance Group (FIG) is looking for a meticulous and skilled Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Analyst to join our dynamic team. The SQA Analyst will be integral in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software applications. You will be responsible for performing comprehensive testing, including functional testing, data validation, and regression testing, to ensure our applications meet the highest standards. In this role, you will write and execute detailed test plans and test cases, both manually and through automation. A deep understanding of FIG's proprietary systems and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams will be essential to your success. Position Functions The position will also be responsible for: Functional Testing and Data Validation: Conduct thorough testing of all applications to ensure they function correctly and meet specified requirements. SQL Query Execution: Create and execute complex SQL queries to validate data and ensure data integrity. Test Case Management: Develop, execute, and maintain both manual and automated test cases, capturing and analyzing results to identify issues. Reporting and Communication: Present testing results and progress updates to the QA Manager, ensuring clear communication of any issues or concerns. Tool Utilization: Utilize test management and defect tracking tools to manage and track test cases and defects effectively. System Understanding: Develop a comprehensive understanding of how employees and clients use the system, ensuring it performs as expected. Process Improvement: Continuously update and improve test repositories and processes to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of QA activities. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge: Understanding of requirements engineering and the software development life cycle. Familiarity with project management principles and methodologies. Knowledge of best practices in task breakdown and allocation for software development teams. Skills: Strong analytical skills to understand complex project details and translate them into actionable tasks. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders. Proficiency in creating clear, concise, and manageable tasks for software development teams. Abilities: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including System Solutions, developers, and project execution analysts. Capability to implement and optimize processes for task conversion and management. Aptitude for anticipating project needs and ensuring continuous task flow for the development team. Preferred but Not Required: Advanced knowledge in specific project management software and tools. Experience with proprietary systems or similar platforms. Experience with UiPath, Blazemeter or other Automation & Performance Testing tools Minimum Requirements Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field. Work Experience: Minimum of 3 years of QA experience, including writing and executing test plans Technical Skills: Experience with Atlassian products like JIRA, Bitbucket, Confluence, Tempo, Structure, etc. Experience with SQL databases. Proficiency in source control tools and methodologies. Practical experience with Scrum or other Agile methodologies. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Preferred Requirements Advanced Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems or Engineering related field Extended Work Experience: Experience in the insurance industry. Experience with proprietary systems or similar platforms. Knowledge and experience in specific project management tools and software. Specialized Technical Skills: Knowledge and experience in FIG's specific proprietary systems or similar technologies. Experience with NoSQL databases. Technical Knowledge: Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other markup languages (e.g., ColdFusion). Tool Proficiency: Experience with Atlassian products (JIRA, Confluence) and development tools/processes (Git, GitHub). Specialized Testing: Experience with performance, load, stress, and API testing. Automation Experience: 1-3 years of experience in designing and writing QA automation scripts. Physical Requirements Must be able to sit and work quietly, operate a computer, and communicate on a telephone. Must be able to lift computers, printers, boxes, and monitors - not more than 50 pounds. Supervisory Responsibilities None Working Conditions Business-casual fast-paced multi-tasking office environment Hours of Operation: This position's work hours are Monday through Friday, 9 am - 5 pm, in a hybrid work environment. Our hybrid environment is three dayswithin ourbusiness-casual office environment. Of these three days in the office, Wednesday and Thursday are required. The other days are work from home, and our employees choose their other day to be in the office.
