SUMMARY: The Planner/Buyer is primarily responsible for planning requirements and supply chain management to ensure timely (scheduled) deliveries of goods and services within budget and/or standard costs. In addition, the Planner/Buyer also will source materials, components, equipment, supplies and services that meet the quality standards of the company. Relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Plan and prioritize operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay Responsible for purchasing materials, supplies or equipment Determine raw materials needed to cover production demand Monitor jobs to ensure they will finish on time Address issues when they arise aiming for minimum disruption Obtain output information (number of finished products, percentage of defectives etc.) Prepare and submit status and performance reports Keep paperwork organized Collaborate with quality control, warehouse, and other staff QUALIFICATIONS: Basic knowledge of sourcing and procurement Knowledge of basic purchasing and quality control principles Proven experience as Production Coordinator/Expeditor/Buyer Exceptional knowledge of production planning and quality control principles Working knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems Good at math and statistics Strong organizational and critical thinking skills Excellent communication abilities High school diploma as a minimum One to two years related experience or equivalent. Knowledge of Production Procedures Ability to Read Blueprints, Schematics and Manuals Analytical Skills Attention to Detail Teamwork Work Independently Multitask Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm COMPETENCIES: Analytical--Synthesizes complex or diverse information; Collects and researches data; Uses intuition and experience to complement data; Designs workflows and procedures.
