Manufacturing Machine Operator I 3rd Shift Chester Township, PA SUMMARY: The primary responsibility of this position is to set up, operate and monitor manufacturing machinery. Ensure machines produce high quality products, run smoothly and at capacity. Operates machine specific functions in production lines in accordance with work instructions within set specifications, typically, configuring equipment, loading and operating machines. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following; other duties may be assigned. Must be able to understand and perform all jobs on furnace equipment Perform job as per Operations' SOPs Must meet all production and quality goals Operate a narrow web retort furnace Load furnace and string: roll-to-roll web slicing and transferring rolls of coated non-furnaced and coated furnace steel Ensure furnaces are operating properly Temperature, hydrogen flow and speed Ensure quality of material produced; no furnace abrasions, scraping, or damaged edges Alloying of Mayer rod lines, curling or non-uniform Ensure proper documentation of furnace material Perform necessary documentation of quantities produced Perform thorough overall cleaning of the furnace retort, pay-off and remove when necessary Maintain a neat, clean work area Read, know, understand, and take ownership for all safety, quality, and processes in the area in which you are working. Able to detect and report to supervisor when process isn't running as it should or something doesn't appear correct. Maintain and provide daily production counts on each assignment worked. Acutely maintain daily time sheets Must meet / exceed safety, quality, and production goals. Wear proper PPE for area in which you are working at all times Lift and move products as required and/or directed. Perform necessary housekeeping to maintain 5s work environment The candidate must have a safety first mentality, quality and detail oriented, capable of following direction, making good observations during processing and have experience in repetitive manufacturing environment or a willingness to leaner these skills. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 1-3 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group s tuations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
