The role The Automation Technician is a hands-on member of the automation group that develops, builds, and programs equipment to support and improve manufacturing processes through implementation of automation. This position will focus on improvement of safety, quality, on-time delivery, and cost through automation. This is a mechanical and programming technical position. How youll make an impact Ensure compliance with ISO 9000 (QMS), 14001 (EMS), 18001 (OSHAS), OSHA, and EPA regulations. Collaborate with support and manufacturing teams to develop and implement automation systems. Machine and fabricate minor components; program robotics and PLCs. Train co-workers and support continuous improvement projects. Adapt to a flexible schedule to meet production needs. Identify and correct defects in products, processes, or materials. Provide input on process improvements and project justification. Troubleshoot mechanical and programming issues, and ensure reliable operation of automated equipment. Maintain a safe, clean work environment and uphold company values through ethical decisions, accountability, and support for diversity and inclusion. What do you bring 5+ years of manufacturing experience. Trade school certification, associate's degree in technology, or similar. Robotics programming skills; familiarity with AI, machine learning, and automation preferred. Proficiency in control languages (Basic, C), basic electronics, and mechanical systems. Experience with project management, CAD drafting (AutoCAD preferred), and computer applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, ERP systems like SAP). Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills. Ability to troubleshoot equipment and perform system tests. Continuous improvement experience, including Lean 6 Sigma, preferred.
