PRIMARY FUNCTION: Responsible for driving the timely preparation of financial statements, reviewing and monitoring internal controls, preparation of budgets and reporting of financial results to the appropriate level within the organization. Manages a team of three (3) and supports the broader Plant Leadership team to achieve division goals and objectives. RESPONSIBILITIES: Work in tandem with multiple cross-functional team members at both corporate and local levels to achieve efficiencies in plant operations. Ensure that proper financial and manufacturing process controls are being utilized correctly. Apply principles towards simplification to eliminate complexity and improve profitability of the company. Analyze the financial details of past, present and expected operations in order to identify development opportunities and areas where improvement is needed. Perform analytical reviews of data and explains variances against plan, outlook and prior year. Monitor budgetary spending for the manufacturing plant. Maintain accurate & timely financial records and reports. Coordinate and direct the financial planning, budgeting and reporting for the organization. Prepare or direct preparation of financial statements, business reports, annual budgets and/or reports required by corporate and/or regulatory agencies. Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close. Effectively communicate and coordinate the exchange of financial information to key stakeholders. Advise management team on short-term and long-term financial objectives, policies and actions. Make recommendations to management regarding changes towards improving financial results. Verify that production processes are being done correctly to ensure that costs are being captured accurately and in a timely manner. Approve all business purchases and expense reports with regards to correct GL account coding and taxability. Approve postings of transactions for all processes and journal entries to the GL. Review Capital Appropriations Requests and Assets Disposals/Transfers. Prepare annual standard cost revision. Conduct month-end and year-end closings. Maintain GL accounts, including posting journal entries, completing account reconciliations, providing variance analysis and investigating discrepancies. Support Materials Department in the physical inventory process, coordinate accounting update to adjust general ledger, and report the results and analyze discrepancies. Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts by providing historical information to department managers. Work with plant management to assist in identifying ways to improve operational efficiencies. Reconcile intercompany transactions. Analysis of manufacturing variances such as purchase price, material usage, labor, and overhead variances. REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in Accounting in a manufacturing industry. Prior Cost Accounting experience. Three (3) to five (5) years leadership/management experience. Strong understanding of financial analysis and budgeting. Well-organized and professional with good communication and people skills. Great problem-solving skills with an excellent use of logic. Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office with focus on Microsoft Excel (must know pivot tables). Must work required hours to complete job responsibilities and assigned duties. PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Master's in Business Administ
