Basic skill level in manual labor, general mechanic, general construction or in the water and wastewater collection systems maintenance occupation; under close supervision, is trained to perform skilled and manual work in the construction, repair, and maintenance of water and wastewater collections systems. Summary of Job Duties{target='_blank' rel='nofollow noopener'} Receives training and assists in operating equipment such as combination vacuum/high pressure sewer cleaning trucks, hydro excavation machines, sewer cleaning easement machine, crane style truck, sewer rodder, golf cart, ATV utility vehicle, various size dump trucks, and various style loaders with associated attachments for operations associated with construction and maintenance of water and sewer assets. Receives training and assists with hydraulic tools, water loss, smoke/dye, and acoustic data gathering equipment, air hammer, tapping/valve insertion machines, powered hand tools and other related equipment. Receives training in setting up work plans, daily tasks for crew; participates with work crews in the installation, maintenance, or replacement of water or sewer lines and components; provides technical assistance as necessary, ensures on-site safety of crew and general public. Trains/Assists in different types of restoration, such as pavement, concrete, manholes, and lawns to original condition. Responds to on-site customer complaints regarding water or sewer service and related problems; prepares daily electronic records and reports; performs minor repairs and preventive maintenance on equipment, requests repairs and servicing of equipment; completes inspections/inventory lists and associated documentation for equipment and materials. (Performs Related Duties as Required) Minimum Qualifications{target='_blank' rel='nofollow noopener'} Equivalent to high school diploma or GED. At least 1 year experience working as a manual laborer or general construction -OR- equivalent combination of education, certification, training or experience in construction/utility related field. Must have current valid Ohio driver's license with acceptable driving records and proof of insurance; must pass Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam. Must obtain temporary CDL within probation; complete formal CDL training and secure CDL-A with tanker endorsements within 12 months from hire date. OR alternative, equivalent evidence of the Minimum Class Requirements.
