Job Description: Wellesley College seeks a collaborative and detail oriented Strategic Initiatives and Events Manager for the Wagner Centers for Wellesley in the World. The newly-established Wagner Centers for Wellesley in the World serves as a hub for global engagement and partnerships at Wellesley College. The Centers include three of Wellesley?s externally facing centers and institutes: the Wellesley Centers for Women, the largest women- and gender-focused academic research-and-action organization in the U.S.; the Albright Institute, where students learn to navigate real-world challenges by working alongside foreign policy leaders; and the Hillary Rodham Clinton Center, focused on citizenship, leadership, and democracy The Strategic Initiatives and Events Manager will play a key role in implementing external initiatives and major convenings that advance Wellesley's reputation, foster engagement in the world, and cultivate philanthropic support. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management and event planning, as well as a passion for higher education. About this role In this role, you will: Project Management: Act as central point of contact and project manager for key external Wagner Centers for Wellesley in the World events and programs, including an annual spring summit and other convenings Budget Oversight: Develop and manage integrated project plans, including budgets, timelines, programs, and logistics Event Planning: Serve as key liaison in developing event programming and content, including speaker outreach, event logistics, partnership development, and work with external vendors such as caterers or AV support Communications: Serve as a primary point of contact with faculty, staff, alumni, and students and build strong relationships with key collaborators across Wellesley College Measuring Success: Implement systems to monitor progress and metrics-tracking and regularly assess for post-event reporting. Use insights to inform future planning and improvements Collaboration: Additional duties may include collaborative support for Wellesley's 150th celebration year (2025-2026), including developing the Wagner Centers' anniversary plans and programming The Strategic Initiatives and Events Manager will report to the Executive Director of the Wagner Centers for Wellesley in the World and work in close collaboration with the Wellesley College Senior Director of Marketing and Communications. Requirements: A minimum of 3-4 number of years or relevant experience in event/project management in a matrixed organization with multiple stakeholders Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with various stakeholders and competing deadlines Highly effective prioritization and organizational skills Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and sound judgment Excellent written and oral communication skills Previous higher education or non-profit experience BA/BS degree required.
