As a Maintenance Assistant with OPWDD, you would perform routine, repetitive semi-skilled maintenance, installation and repair tasks in one or in a combination of the mechanical, building, construction, motor equipment and electrical trades. You may also perform journey-level activities under supervision or after receiving detailed instructions, to learn and perfect your skills. Minimum Qualifications: Two years of full-time experience in maintenance or mechanical work under the supervision of a skilled tradesperson; OR completion of an appropriate technical school course at a school, institute or branch of the Armed Forces, such as the New York State CSEA-P Applied Skills Trades Certificate Program. Parenthetics used: Carpenter, Electrician, Locksmith, Maston & Plasterer, Painter, Plumber & Steamfitter, Roofer & Tinsmith. Each parenthetic has a different set of minimum qualifications.
