Kelly Services is currently partnering with a growing CPA firm in the St Clair Shores, MI area seeking a Full Charge Bookkeeper to join the team. As a Full Charge Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for accurately recording financial transactions, reconciling accounts, processing payroll and sales tax, managing accounts payable and receivable, and preparing comprehensive financial reports. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent attention to detail, and proficiency in Quickbooks Job Specifications: Role: Full Charge Bookkeeper Duration: Full-time, direct hire Location: St Clair Shores, MI - 100% onsite Salary: $50,000 - 65,000 depending on experience Hours: M-F 8-5 Perks: Competitive salary and benefits package. Roles and Responsibilities: Prepare Bookkeeping and payroll services for assigned clients (for various small businesses with 20 or less employees) Accurately record, input, or download daily financial transactions, completing the coding and posting process to ensure the integrity of the financial records. Reconcile general ledger accounts, including bank statements, identifying and resolving discrepancies as needed. Timely process payroll and sales tax, ensuring accurate calculations for wages, tax withholdings, company contributions, and sales tax obligations. Maintain a high level of detail to ensure all filings and payments are prepared on schedule. There are two levels of payroll service for the clients Live payroll - actually getting hours, calculating payroll, generating checks and check stubs (all payroll calculations and deductions) and providing checks and payments to customers 2nd version is after the fact payroll and that means that client prepares and calculates payroll and does the checks and they produce the payroll reports for the clients and calculate payroll tax responsibility (how much 941 tax to pay and Also do that for state withholding reports, multiple states and produce unemployment for state and federal Produce compile form 941 and various state unemployment - UIA and pay on behalf of client or send client payment amounts Oversee accounts payable (including check payment processing) and receivable functions according to client engagement scope, which includes invoicing and tracking payments. Prepare comprehensive financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account data and trends. They do this through Accounting CS - this is a system they do the payroll and write up through Wont be doing a lot of payables and receivables - more coding the disbursements - feed into trial balance, tie out and reconcile this Write up checks, recording deposits - hand writing checks - write up work and recording on check stubs inside Quickbooks (client provides bank statements and transactions and they would put together the financial statements) Write ups: The company has a fair number of clients they do this work for in QuickBooks - can reconcile accounts, credit cards and have a sense of having cleaned up, create GL and trial balance and from there create a basic financial statement or tax return Employ technology tools to manage records and generate reports, ensuring data integrity and security. Qualifications & Skills: Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally in a similar setting. Experience working for a CPA / accounting firm performing Bookkeeping, payroll and payroll tax forms for multiple clients a plus. Proficient in preparing, reviewing, and understanding financial statements. Experience preparing payroll tax forms, specifically form 941 Skilled in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks desktop are both used here as well as Accounting CS) and Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with automated cloud-based transaction tools (e.g., ) is advantageous; QuickBooks certification is a plus. Strong focus on accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
